If you’ve been keeping up to date on the latest in the seo world then you’ll be aware that Google has declared war on a lot of networks including seo link monster.
You can read my thoughts on the matter on day 8 below and i’ve left the comment box open if you want to share your thoughts on the matter.

Hey,
Adam here and i’d like to welcome you to a mini project or should i say diary i’ve started in my free time that i’m coining the Seo Link Monster Chronicles
Before you continue reading:
#1 Seo link monster is the 1st blog network i’ve actively tested so i might need help from the more experienced should i reach a dead end and will be including a backlink back to their websites.
#2 I’ll be keeping you up to date with my seo link monster chronicles at our fanpage which i’ll be updating really soon with pictures from the members’ area, so become a fan to stay up to date => http://www.facebook.com/seolinkmonsters
#3 You can also join me on my new twitter feed @ImChronicles where i’ll be keeping the twitterverse upto date on my IM adventures including the seo link monster chronicles.
What I’ll Be Doing In The Seo Link Monster Chronicles
- I WILL put seo link monster to the test on at LEAST 5 sites across different niches and post my traffic results (=gained by ranking keywords).
- I WILL be educating myself on blog networks and show you what i have learnt as i learn it.
- I WILL share my results with you including keyword stats e.g., global and monthly searches, where i ranked before and after etc
What I Won’t Be Doing In The Seo Link Monster Chronicles
- I WON’T be posting the domain names and keywords out of respect for Matt and Brad’s network.
- I WON’T Be providing a service using seo link monster ….
For that you’ll have to try seo link monster for yourself
2 Reasons Why I Recommend Trying Seo Link Monster:
1) Link Diversity (talk about this in Day3)
2) Uncomplicated Article Submission (Last Thing I Want Is Spending Hours Trying To Figure Out How To Submit An Article)

After hearing all the buzz about seo link monster and how only an “elite few” were getting to test the system i decided to mix it up with “the big kahoonas” and send in an email to seo link monster support.
The email went something like this:
“Hey this is Adam, this is what i do, i have a fanpage i created and ranked for a previous launch of digi traffic accelerator and would like to test seo link monster”
To be honest i really didn’t think i’d hear any thing from them …
But the snapshot above goes to show what can happen when you ask politely, don’t BS and get straight to the point
There are already a bunch of awesome seo link monster reviews and bonuses of seo link monster around I wanted to do something “different”
But i need to test seo link monster first.
Will keep you posted!
Questions, comments, what have you?
Day2 (26.01.2012 – Updated On 30.01.2012)
Didn’t have much time to test seo link monster but this is what i did on the 26th (updating this on the 30th).
1) I hate writing my own articles and getting articles outsourced can take time. Have started using “ready, spun and ready to go articles” from LeadingArticles.Com
The video below is what the leading articles market place looks like courtesy of Dave Baker from Dbpmarketing.com who is doing an seo link monster review worth checking out.
2) The stats of the sites submitted to seo link monster will be color coded to be able to tell the difference between the keywords.
I’ll be adding more sites soon and restarting the experiment since i forgot to start with &gl=us for the 1st site submitted on the 26th .. duhhh.
I’ll start retesting with alternative keywords and sites and have started getting some candidates.
The seo link monster candidates so far …
Candidate1 – Website x1
Candidate2 – Website x2
Candidate3 – Website x3
Candidate4 – FB Fan Page x1
Candidate5 – FB Fan Page x2
Candidate6 – FB Fan Page x3
Candidate7- Squidoo Lens x1
Candidate8 - Squidoo Lens x2
Candidate9 – Squidoo Lens x3
Candidate10 – YouTube Video x1
Candidate11 – YouTube Video x2
Candidate12 – YouTube Video x3
So with a batch of 3 for each seo link monster candidate i think twelve independent tests should be enough
Keep you posted on the seo link monster chronicles ….
Day3 (06 Feb 2012)
It’s been a couple of days now and i’ve been testing seo link monster with vita’s LeadingArticles.com (see Day2) and i’m loving the results i’m getting so far.
Below is a screenshot of a niche site (= candidate website #1) that i’ve been testing seo link monster on and HAVE started to see a climb in the ranks of some of the keywords.
This has resulted in a steady increase in traffic to the site and the traffic is back in a green positive 5.49%.
I’ll be updating the stats on this site as i test the alternate keywords.
Below, you’ll find a sort of “seo link monster blueprint” that i’ve come up with that’s getting some fantastic results in the field.
Some of which have brought me double rankings
It looks like something out of a mad scientist’s lab but it’s based on sound seo theory that i have tested time and time again and i’ll explain it (if you have any questions drop a comment below).
Adam’s Seo Link Monster Blueprint
Mindset:
Consider your website like a “mini internet” where you have more than one page for whatever you’re selling and/or promoting. Wouldn’t it make sense to link the pages up?
Well this is something that i do and is excellent for your onpage seo.
I try to have a minimum of 2 pages for each site.
One being the main page and the other being the supporting page which links to the main page using the keyword in the anchor.
So i use seo link monster to help the supporting pages rank better AND improve the ranking of the main page.
Confused yet
?
The image to the right should make the concept clearer and why i think seo link monster (<= Yep that’s an example of an internal link to this page) is so darn awesome.
I totally recommend trying out seo link monster if you can afford it because it’s already started showing results and for me anything that adds link diversity to my campaigns is a plus
It also uses a totally different syndication process that won’t make it overbloat like seo link vine did!
However chances are you’re wondering what the red boxes are in the image?
They are called seed articles that i’m using with seo link monster and have three sections — A 1st paragraph, a 2nd paragraph and a last paragraph.
And how do i add links to each seed article?
Instead of adding 3 links to each and getting too many backlinks back to my pages (=big no no) i spread them out evenly by using 2 at most that point to different pages on my sites.
Key being DIFFERENT pages here …
I also make sure to place these seo monster links in each article in totally random sections of the articles
Example (Check Out The Funky Image To The Right)
Seed article 1 gets a link in the 1st and 2nd, Seed article 2 gets a link in the 1st and 3rd and seed article in the 2nd and 3rd paragraph.
Day4 (12 Feb 2012)
Just got an email that there’s going to be a >>webinar exclusive to seo link monster members<<.
Will be interesting to see how the other monster members are doing
I’ve removed all 5 seed articles from the backend to dilute the backlinking feed and avoid overlinking.
There’s also a good tip in the members area on adding articles without links to dilute the feeds.
Should have done this instead, but since i pay for each seed article this wouldn’t have been an option anyway.
Anyway latest stats of website 1 being tested from Day3 (=where i forgot to include the dates) are attached to the right — An obvious improvement from 5% from Day3.
I’ve also decided to use some form of metric to see what results i’m getting “backlink wise” from seo link monster and have decided to use ahrefs.com.
Results:
Looks like some of the links from the 5 seed articles i submitted WERE indexed.
I’ll be following the Ref. Ips to see how many new backlinks seo link monster gives me in the future.
Once i see the ref ip go up i’ll start adding new articles to the monster feed.
Website 1 is currently at 18 referred ips that i’ll be taking as a virtual zero — In the picture to the right i’ve circled the links seo link monster gave me in red.
I must say that i am impressed with the results i’m getting “traffic wise” since all the keywords i’m gunning for have a minimum of 200 searches per month and are pretty competitive.
This means that even a slight increase in rank will bring the site even more traffic!
However, the main keyword has 1000 searches per month and although it has moved up a little from the bottom of page3 i’m going to work my butt off to get it to page1
I’m pumped but let’s see how it goes …
After having looked at the links achieved by ahrefs.com i found out that they were NOT links from seo link monster or i’m not looking in the right place :-/.
So at this point, although i KNOW that website #1 is improving in rank for the keywords i added to the seo link monster backend (since i don’t have any other seo campaigns running) i can’t track the links.
Hopefully someone more experienced or a member from seo link monster HQ can provide more insight — Time to hit YouTube
Day5 (15 Feb 2012)
After some of the helpful comments i got below on my seo link monster chronicles i’ve got an idea of how i’m going to track the backlinks created by seo link monster.
However, before i follow through i wanted to see what others think.
I have also sent in a support request to seo link monster hq and want to see what they have to say.
As far as following the ranking of the 1st website and other 2 which i will be using once i get more articles for testing i’ve decided to use rankerizer.
This is a free software created by the callen brothers that helps monitor your rankings and i was playing around with it the other day — Not a bad tool
You can download it for free at rankerizer.com
Website#1 made me $15 in the last 4 days which is cool since i sold a high tiered product — I’ll try to write up how i convert visitors to amazon in a future post.
However i’d like to share 2 “Magic Traffic Conversion Tips” which i’ve been testing and that’s working like gangbusters to increase my CTR (Click Through Rate).
Try them out and you may be surprised ….
- “Magic Traffic Conversion Tip” #1:
Have Adsense 160×600 units on the right side of your blog?
Switch them over to the left, make them text only and have them blend in to the same color as the rest of your blog!
Reason to switch 160×600 ads to left:The left section of a website is one of the most viewed areas of a website.
This is because english speaking readers typically read from left to right and click that way.Reason to blend text ad color with blog :
Eliminate “banner blindness” and remove the “spammy look” image banner ads have. - “Magic Traffic Conversion Tip” #2:
Have a 300×250 amazon Ad widget that matches the content and the traffic landing on your homepage.
The ad widget that’s working for me at the moment is the omikase widget that automatically matches the content on your site displaying discounts for products.
So how does seo link monster fit into this whole equation?
As you can see in the top right the site is already making money since i’ve tweaked it to convert on both the amazon and adsense front.
Traffic conversion and low bounce rates of 55% and below are my #1 priorities for any site i create!
The only thing missing right now is the traffic and although the site only gets a few visitors a day i’m going to use seo link monster to help me improve the ranking of the site for the 3 high traffic keywords.
This will result in more targeted visitors (=key on targeted) and the omikase widget is going to give that traffic EXACTLY what they’re looking for — Targeted discounts for their searches!
What about you? How are you converting your visitors?
Drop a comment below and lemme know
Day6 (23 Feb 2012)
Resubmitted an article back into the seo link monster feed for website1.
Article Stats:
Only 1 link in the article with 4 variations for all four high traffic keywords (=greyed out in the image to the right)
Have decided to track the backlinks and progress with majestic seo after watching dori friend’s webinar in the seo link monster member’s area yesterday.
More on what i learnt from the webinar below …
I’m also using rankerizer to track the progress of the keywords in Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Analytic stats are also being recorded to see how the site progresses with time.
Traffic stats are looking good and the site is starting to average close to 30+ visitors every day.
Let’s see if we can break the 40 visitors a day mark
What I Learnt From The Seo Link Monster Webinar By Dori Friend
I must say i really enjoyed the webinar replay hosted by dori friend at seolinkmonster.
However two tips that i really liked were:
a) To keep Cloud cover up to 40% and
b) Targeting keyword variations once page one is reached.
Seo Link Monster Insider Info:
Cloud cover are typically keywords in articles like “click here”, “www.domain.com” etc help prevent backlink overkill and make seo campaigns more natural.
Day7 (27 Feb 2012)
If you’ve been following along with my adventures with seo link monster i forgot to mention something on Day6.
On the cool seo link monster webinar replay i watched there were two major concerns by the members that were addressed and that Dori Friend said would be solved:
Two Major Concerns By Seo Link Monster Members:
- Lack of being able to see and filter keywords with a more granular reporting.
- Danger of the blogs being exposed by ex-members (=main problem using such networks which i’ve become aware of)
Well i logged into the backend today to see how these problems would be addressed and found a pretty neat reporting system:
a) The number of posts posted on the network appear as a graph = Neat feature.
b) Keywords can now be filter via a drop down box and shown by clicking on an orange “Update Filters” button.
c) Snapshots of the links can be seen via thumbnails. This requested feature by the members still seems to be in development but is a good solution to problem2 from above.
Day8 (04 April 2012)
I’ve been wanting to update the chronicles for some time now and if you’ve been keeping up to date with the latest news in the seo world, the big G has declared war on blog networks.
Most blog networks including seo link monster are closing their doors to new members since there’s a lot of talk that most of these networks have been infiltrated.
You can read about the blog network massacre at one of my favorite blogs affilorama over >> Here <<
One of the reasons i started the chronicles was to learn more about blog networks and how to use them effectively and one thing i’ve learnt is that just because something is working today doesn’t mean it has to work tomorrow.
The seo world is rather volatile that way ;-( but lesson learnt …
I’ve already shifted my backlinking approach to ignore blog networks, one of them being using unspun articles on guest blogs …
Unsexy i know but i’m going the totally white hat organic path (which puts me at a HUGE disadvantage with those still using undiscovered blog network links) but that’s ok.
Two methods that are working slowly but surely for me at the moment are video marketing and guest blogging and i’ll keep you up to date on how i’m doing
So at this moment in time, i’d keep my hands off public blog networks even when and should they reopen because google hates them.
Instead, build links naturally and scale them up smartly in a way that google likes them.
It will take time yes but there are no shortcuts to success.

Hey,
Looks like i’ve hit a road block
Ahrefs.com isn’t tracking the monster links. Any tips on how to track the links from seo link monster?
Would like to hear your recommendations.
Cheers And God Bless,
Adam
It can take a little while for backlinks to be recognized/indexed by sites like ahrefs, Majestic SEO, Blekko etc.
Unless you are getting pingbacks to your WP site, the easiest way to check where your articles are published is if you have some common phrase to search on, eg:
“For more information see ……”
Otherwise, you just have to wait a while to see which links turn up.
Hey Peter,
I’ll have to reactivate the pingbacks on the site and see if i’m getting any.
Like your idea with the “For more information see …”.
Thanks for the tip.
Cheers And God Bless,
Adam
Hey Adam,
glad you mentioned it. It is key to get all pages with backlinks indexed. Some time ago I found a way of improving the percentage of getting the pages indexed and controlled.
Start a new site on a new domain / IP Adress and post regularly (daily) content..doesn’t matter what kind of content. Just content, so google will index it and crawl it daily! Then you will post on this site as well links to your new backlink-sites, so the new backlink-sites get index earlier and faster!
For checking backlinks, I use http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/
Cheers,
Sebastian
Hey Sebastian,
Thanks for the tips m8
So far opensiteexplorer seems to be a good candidate as well but i think i’ll give ahrefs another shot as well.
Believe it or not there’s a big difference between a domain.com and a http://www.domain.com and i think i may have entered the wrong one lol.
Cheers And God Bless,
Adam
I 2nd OpenSiteExplorer.org. It’s definitely a good service.
Another really good one I use is http://www.majesticseo.com
good work, Adam!
Hey Matt,
Yeah. Will cross reference using both
Thx,
Adam
